Committed to sharing the stories of the company and transmitting the natural and cultural heritage of Provence, L'OCCITANE Museum in Manosque pays tribute to the work of photographer Jean-Claude Carbonne, native to Aix-en-Provence. Running until 31 December 2014, the exhibition “Instants Magiques,” or "Magic Moments," brings together a series of unpublished pictures of the Ballet Preljocaj. On display, pictures in suspension captured over time, in which the photographer presents his vision, to the rhythm of creation, emotion and rigor.
Jean-Claude Carbonne, who is currently working on a book with Christian Lacroix, Rudy Ricciotti and the painter Claude Viallat, explains his guiding principle: "These images depict nearly 20 years of work by Angelin Preljocaj, since he arrived in Aix en-Provence in 1996. But this is only a tiny part of my focus. His art is made up of creativity, originality, rigor, and a touch of madness that he knows how to inject into his dancers. I never asked him to stop a rehearsal, I watched from the background, waiting for the right moment…” You get the picture, so now it’s up to you to come and see the show!
