Cancelled Beauty appointments and all the extra hand washing whilst staying safe at home may have left your hands in need of some TLC and with the perfect excuse to start some DIY!
We caught up with Chelsea about how to maintain your nails and give them the salon treatment from the safety of your home.
Chelsea King is a manicurist and nail artist based in Los Angeles, California. Creating tutorials and nail art designs, her attention to detail and innovative techniques earned her the title of queen of nails and manicurist to a host of celebrities.
"Trim your nails to roughly the desired shape, then file to perfect it. I use a 180 or 240 grit file because it's gentler on the nail."
"Apply cuticle remover and push back cuticles with a cuticle pusher or orange wood stick."
"Wash hands with the Ultra Rich Hand Wash to remove cuticle remover."
"Use the One Minute Hand Scrub to exfoliate hands, also focusing on the cuticles, then rinse and dry."
"Apply Shea Nail & Cuticle Nourishing Oil on your cuticles."
"Apply Intensive Hand Balm, I like to apply it pretty thick to act as a mask while I paint my nails. Then, use nail polish remover to cleanse the nail of any oils to prep."
"Paint your base coat and seal in the free edge of the nail - this will make your polish last longer!"
Make sure you paint two coats of colour and also add a top coat. Here is the finished Manicure and paint!
