Sustainable Sourcing
L'OCCITANE sees nature as its model and draws inspiration from the natural properties of plants to drive innovation. We are dedicated to developing long-term partnerships with our producers and prioritise short and local integrated channels when sourcing our key ingredients.
Producers
Our relationship with our producers is precious, and built on trust and mutual respect. They're the ones who grow the locally sourced, traceable ingredients that lie at the heart of our products. We have long-term, non-exclusive contracts with our producers, pay them a fair price, and provide them with technical and financial support. But we want to go even further…
Ingredients
Naturally, a brand that loves nature cares about conservation and sustainability. At L'OCCITANE, we use traceable, sustainably sourced ingredients, making sure that plants are cultivated and harvested without harming the environment or biodiversity. We've even developed supply chains that protect local plant species.
At L'OCCITANE, we strive to use high-quality, traceable and natural ingredients.
We use over 200 botanical ingredients, a quarter of them organic certified, which are carefully selected for their effectiveness and their ability to give your skin the elements it needs to be beautiful. We therefore systematically give priority to natural ingredients whenever possible. Discover the key natural ingredients that make our products so unique. Provençal Almond, Burkina Faso Shea Butter… all ethically sourced.

VERBENA
FROM PROVENCE
From their first meeting on the lush tropical island of Réunion, to owning a farm amid the rolling hills of Provence, Philippe and Magalie Mary have lived a storied life together. Their shared passion for sustainable farming and Provençal herbs led the couple to cultivate their crop.
Research & Innovation
People and nature are at the heart of our products. In addition to continually improving our formulas, we also aim to limit our impact on the environment. We source traceable ingredients from a network of trusted local suppliers and we select these suppliers carefully, building long-lasting relationships. The quality of our ingredients is a high priority (i.e.: protected designation of origin, organic farming and sustainable agriculture) and we use the highest quality ingredients in the most appropriate concentrations.
Our Clean Charter
We have set a new global challenge for ourselves with our “Clean Charter” criteria, in addition to our Formulation Charter commitments: these additional criteria highlight our increased commitment to create even more natural formulas (leave-on products) and ingredients that minimize our environmental impact (rinse-off products), without any compromise on the sensoriality, efficacy and safety of our products.
