We See You

L'OCCITANE's history and devotion to becoming cultivators of change reads like a poem; one where infinite passion, ground breaking ideas and desire to make lasting change come together. Since 1976, L'OCCITANE has been committed to preserving the environments we touch, cultivating with care and engaging in philanthropy.

In 2020, L'OCCITANE launched I Choose L'OCCITANE, a film to celebrate those who embody the commitments at the heart of the brand.

This year, L'OCCITANE has created WE SEE YOU, a film to celebrate those little changes and a recognition of the effort you are making. The film focuses on three of our six key commitments; Respecting Biodiversity, Reducing Waste and Empowering Women. L'OCCITANE has been planting trees with the Woodland Trust and PUR Projet since 2019. They have been cleaning beaches and green spaces over the summer, creating packaging solutions to reduce our waste and give new life to plastic with recycling facilities in all of our stores across the UK and Ireland. Just some of the ways we are helping our planet and people.
They carved out six humanitarian, ecological and artistic commitments, which are still at the very heart of the brand today. L'OCCITANE's pledge to become cultivators of change is inspired by you, enhancing our motivation to shape a better future for the people and the planet, turning consumption into regeneration, and creating a positive change for a better world.

Behind The Scenes Of Our 'We See You' Brand Movie
While we all wish for more for people and the planet, L'OCCITANE recognises that wishing is not enough. We need to challenge ourselves - the way we think, and most importantly, the way we act. L'OCCITANE sees you challenging your habits and beliefs to make sustainable, lasting change.

A Film To Support Our Commitments

L'OCCITANE has pledged to be part of the solution: giving new homes to wildlife as they plant more forests. Provence is where the roots of L'OCCITANE lie. This special place truly celebrates nature in all its glory, encouraging us to continuously Respect the Biodiversity: promoting local eco-systems by partnering with agroforestry charities PUR Projet and The Woodland Trust.

At L’OCCITANE, innovative and progressive schemes exist to limit the environmental impact of our processes and packaging involved, Reducing Waste where possible. Eco-Refill options save on average 85% single-use plastic and over 200 tons of plastic every year.

In 2021 L'OCCITANE launched Refill Fountains, negating the requirement for single-use plastic packaging entirely when customers use our new aluminium Forever Bottles.

In 2021, L'OCCITANE embarked on the second blue and green space cleaning tour of the UK. All the waste collected from the activity is currently being reused and recycled as in-store VM props.

In addition to offering in-store recycling services at all boutiques across the UK, L'OCCITANE has ensured the scheme covers empty packaging from all beauty brands.

Although we are proud of our efforts to reduce waste, we are motivated to do better. By 2025, 100% of plastic packaging will be made from 100% recycled plastic.

The philanthropic nature of L'OCCITANE runs through every aspect of our business, and alongside the pledge to Empowering Women.
