OUR IMMORTELLE INGREDIENT
In Corsica, the French "Island of Beauty", grows a plant called Immortelle. Its flower never fades, even after it's been picked.
Because it grows in exceptionally sunny conditions, this "Golden Sun" offers the very best from its active ingredients (resistance to time and environmental aggressors). It also contains a high concentration of Neryl acetate, a molecule that has an anti-ageing activity and has five patents in France.
For over 18 years, L'OCCITANE has been working on its anti-ageing properties and has already filed six patents in France.
We have been researching the Immortelle Flower for 20 years and we are still amazed by this super flower that maintains its vibrant yellow hue even after being picked. Through an extraction process inspired by nature, our lab experts have unlocked the new Immortelle Sap-Like Extract. The extract is captured using NaDES (Natural Deep Eutectic Solvents) technology. The natural solvent is inspired by nature and just like a plant’s sap, it is capable of capturing the different types of compounds from within the plant.
At the heart of the Immortelle Plant, are different types of molecules (water and oil-soluble molecules), which normally get separated in a conventional extraction process. Our natural solvent allows us to capture both so that your skin can benefit from all the solubles, instead of just one. The unique combination of molecules allows our Immortelle Sap-Like Extract to help the skin soothe and recover from daily stress.
